Hey Chi, how old are you??? Just wondering because I'm pretty old, and too worn out to really make waves anymore. But it's a good life.

I figure whoever the mods are, whoever owns and manages a site, it's best to consider it "their house" and make some adjustments when they start giving you frustrated looks or scowls, which I think is essentially what discipline amounts to over there. Sure, they might think they have objective standards and all, but aren't we all pretty much just subject to the vagaries of reflexive and subjective interpretations that are really based on our comfort zones?

It's their hoiuse, let them have it the way they want it. lol.

Go Ron Paul!!!!!

America is MY house!!!!!!

Thanks for the lecture. Up until reading it my days had been ruined by the stress of being temporarily banned from Jazzfanz. My plea on here to have it lifted was a desperate attempt to restore order in my life. But now I know that it's 'their house' and their rules apply. Everything I've posted on that forum, and this one, has been totally serious in nature and I will start e-acting my age.

Moe - I apologize for giving Chicago a bad name on jazzfanz. My immature posts in that forum probably rank really close to George Ryan, the political roots and current ties with the Mafia, being the most segregated large city in the world, crappy winters and the most recent international news story of 7 teens jumping a helpless teenage boy to put on youtube** in things that have tarnished the fair city's name.

Then again, the first post I ever made as Chitownjazz on the jazzhoops.net forum circa 2002 was greeted with, 'Chicago is a cesspool' in the first response. So perhaps it was an unconscious self-fulfilling persona to perpetuate the local jazz fans' preconceived notions.

**One could draw the parallel of the pack of e-friends on Jazzfanz were the 7 teens, and I was the boy in the alley. But I fought back and beat them into submission (aka complaining to get me banned). I'm not making that conclusion, just throwing that out there.

When my ban is lifted you won't have to worry about me ruffling anymore feathers over there. I'll go back to being the bastion of reason in all things pertaining to the Jazz and life.

Enjoy the nice day today! It's gorgeous outside.

another beautiful day in Chicago :-)
though perhaps colder than yesterday

so Chitown, are you a Bulls fan at all? I went to the game last night - it's really fun this season since it seems that nearly half the guys on the floor at any time are guys I cheered for on the Jazz for the past 5-6 years. Looking forward to seeing the Bulls play the Nets next weekend!

btw, Chitown, I hope things are OK! You seem to have more anger these past few months than I ever recall seeing from you. Though I will admit to some hyperbole in saying you tarnished the name of the city, so I apologize for that.

Things are excellent by me. Whatever anger you sensed from posts on Jazzfanz or here is not 'real'. Immature? yes. But certainly not indicative of anything other than there were certain days I was very bored. I'm a diehard Jazz fan but don't hate the Bulls. I'm a big Rose fan. I also like Brewer a lot. Still hate Boozer so it's hard to actively cheer for them.

Nope. Shittown is really clever. It's a good thing you weren't aborted like your pops had originally hoped for, or else the world would've never gotten that contribution from you.

Don't go soft and emotional on me. You're the one saying Chicago is a *beep* hole.

Moe whyd I get banned again? I've been baited by a few posters there and restrained myself. Why aren't they getting banned for verbally attacking me? Or making personal jokes about my wife when it was completely unwarranted (see my thread on General Discussion forum re the 60's and 70's)...

I understand it's a free site so I'm at the disposal of whoever is paying the bills there, but I'd like to hear outright that there are different rules for different posters.

Moderators don't have time to read every post. Some trolls have to be reported to them. Other stuff is seen and dealt with.
