Hey Chi, how old are you??? Just wondering because I'm pretty old, and too worn out to really make waves anymore. But it's a good life.
I figure whoever the mods are, whoever owns and manages a site, it's best to consider it "their house" and make some adjustments when they start giving you frustrated looks or scowls, which I think is essentially what discipline amounts to over there. Sure, they might think they have objective standards and all, but aren't we all pretty much just subject to the vagaries of reflexive and subjective interpretations that are really based on our comfort zones?
It's their hoiuse, let them have it the way they want it. lol.
Go Ron Paul!!!!!
America is MY house!!!!!!
Thanks for the lecture. Up until reading it my days had been ruined by the stress of being temporarily banned from Jazzfanz. My plea on here to have it lifted was a desperate attempt to restore order in my life. But now I know that it's 'their house' and their rules apply. Everything I've posted on that forum, and this one, has been totally serious in nature and I will start e-acting my age.
Moe - I apologize for giving Chicago a bad name on jazzfanz. My immature posts in that forum probably rank really close to George Ryan, the political roots and current ties with the Mafia, being the most segregated large city in the world, crappy winters and the most recent international news story of 7 teens jumping a helpless teenage boy to put on youtube** in things that have tarnished the fair city's name.
Then again, the first post I ever made as Chitownjazz on the jazzhoops.net forum circa 2002 was greeted with, 'Chicago is a cesspool' in the first response. So perhaps it was an unconscious self-fulfilling persona to perpetuate the local jazz fans' preconceived notions.
**One could draw the parallel of the pack of e-friends on Jazzfanz were the 7 teens, and I was the boy in the alley. But I fought back and beat them into submission (aka complaining to get me banned). I'm not making that conclusion, just throwing that out there.
When my ban is lifted you won't have to worry about me ruffling anymore feathers over there. I'll go back to being the bastion of reason in all things pertaining to the Jazz and life.
Enjoy the nice day today! It's gorgeous outside.
